A 3 day World Flying Disc Federation format distance event
Brought to you by Scientific Disc Golf
Location: The Ivanpah dry lake bed in the high desert of Primm, Nevada on the border
of California and Nevada, 44 miles from Las Vegas. Elevation: 2618 feet.
Come try to break a World Record or watch the big guns go for one including Christian
Sandstrom's Open Division World Record throw of 250 meters (820 ft) set in 2002.
The elevation and weather combine to make this one of the premier sites in the world
for flying disc distance throwing. Two World Records were set at this event last year.
The World Flying Disc Federation currently lists 4 World records set at this site.
This means you have an excellent chance (actually up to 45 excellent chances) of
throwing your longest throw ever – maybe even a World Record!
This area is home to Primm Valley Resorts and Casinos with casinos, entertainment and
theme park attractions such as the Desperado – one of the top 10 roller coasters in
North America.
Format
Qualifying Round: Friday 4PM until sunset. Throwing in groups of 1 or 2. Three sets of
five throws. This round is not mandatory if there are less than 15 throwers in your
division. Longest throw used to seed players for subsequent rounds.
Semi-final round: Saturday 10 AM until sunset. Top 5 seeded throwers in each division
in groups of one or two. Highest seeded throwers get first choice on throwing times. 3
sets of 5 throws.
Final round: Sunday morning till noon. Top 5 longest throwers from each division in
groups of one or two. Otherwise as in semi-finals. Any competitor not in the finals and
with a throw in the competition within 100 feet of a world record may make an
individual record attempt on Sunday.
All of a participant’s longest official throws per set in all 3 rounds will be measured
and will be eligible as possible world records.

Awards
Awards to be determined based on entries and sponsorship. At a minimum, Olympic
style medals will be awarded to the top 3 places in each division.
Entry:
Entry fee is FREEfor all participants. Free entry via paypal here, or
send info with desired division to “Scientific Disc Golf” at 3832 Edgewater Street,
High Point NC 27265. Questions from potential participants and interested

Maximum number of participants is 10.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY IS RECEIVED by April 14th 2010. No day of event entries.
SCHEDULE
We'll have a group meeting at Whiskey Pete's at 3PM on Friday in front of the
front entrance where we met last year for anyone wishing to throw friday.
Anyone who wants to throw before this for their qualifying round can contact me
by email or cell phone 336 259-0382. Anyone arriving late can likely meet us
on the lake bed or call me on the cell phone.
We will meet at 10 AM on Saturday at the same place. If everyone is there on
Friday we might just change the meeting place to the lake bed for Sat AM
Sunday my plane leaves from Vegas at 2:30 PM. That gives us to 11AM or so to
complete things. Considering the small number involved that should be plenty of
time if we start at 9AM or so.
Schedule:
Friday 3 PM - Meet in front of Whiskey Pete's (not mandatory if you can't be
there till Sat.)
Sat 10 AM - Meet in front of Whiskey Pete's (possibly the lake bed)
Sunday 9 AM - Meet on lake bed
Awards: Trophies for top 3 in each division,

I will be arriving in Ontario airport 10 AM the 16th. We'll meet at Whiskey
Pete's at 3PM like last year just outside the entrance near the lobby. My cell
phone number is 336 259 0382 if there is any confusion. My plane does not
leave until late Sunday so we should have all of Sunday if desired to throw. This
year entry is free. Please let me know if you are coming so i can prepare enough
trophies.
Entrants: So far we have Mark Jarvis, David Wiggins Jr, Don Blake, Buster
Brown and Andy Lehman.
Possible (I have not heard for sure) are Marc Molnar, Jeff Stoops, and Suzette
Simmons. There is room for more so if you know anyone interested, let me know.
